How to create a DIY champagne bucket flower arrangement, perfect for entertaining!
Using champagne buckets for flower arrangements might be my new favorite thing! I recently hosted a fall dinner party where I was short on time and plopped the flowers in my champagne bucket to save time – and what a happy accident it was!
I will admit – this champagne bucket flower arrangement was a happy accident. I picked a bunch of fresh flowers from the farm down the street and needed somewhere to put them before I had time to cut and arrange them in an actual vase, so I plopped them in my countertop champagne bucket and put them outside.
Once the party rolled around, I was running low on counter space and had an “I wonder if” moment to save counter space. The result? My standing champagne bucket is now my favorite flower vase. It turned out so well!
How to create a champagne bucket floral arrangement
What worked for me was actually using two champagne buckets. I took the countertop bucket that you see above and simply placed it inside the standing champagne bucket. Truly as easy as that! I found that it was easier to arrange and change the water using a bucket-within-a-bucket technique.
Of course, if you don’t have both – you could use whatever vase you have on hand and simply use that to place inside. Using that interior vase will help hold the flowers in place. Alternatively, you could use chicken wire or floral foam as well.
I love the look of abundance, so cut lots of extra sage to use as filler for my arrangement! Bonus: the sage smelled SO fresh and divine!
Where to buy champagne buckets
Believe it or not, I always see champagne buckets at Goodwill and thrift stores. I think it’s one of those things that people love in theory, but don’t use as often as they’d think so it’s easy to let go of. I found my countertop champagne bucket at Goodwill.
If you’re looking for a standing champagne bucket, Amazon has some great options (linked below–now I want a copper one!). However, if you have more time to look – I’ve found that Home Goods frequently has them in store, which is where I found mine. I believe it was around $50.
Idea: champagne bucket flowers centerpiece
I definitely plan on repeating this type of flower arrangement again and again! As much as I loved it next to the drink cart, I think it would make a really pretty centerpiece, too!
