I’m finally in the home stretch with four weeks (give or take) to go. I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever and am definitely starting to slow down. I’ve heard this discomfort is *by design* to help you feel ready to get baby out when the time comes, but boy oh boy (pun intended) I don’t know how I’m supposed to get bigger with this remaining month to go!
That being said, there are several key things that have been getting me through this final trimester that I thought I would share. Whether you’re reading this as an expecting mama yourself or looking for a few support items for a pregnant friend, here are 13 items that have been helping me feel as good as I can during my third trimester.
These maternity leggings from Amazon are singlehandedly getting me through all my workouts. Yes, these go all the way up to your **, but they are the comfiest things you’ll put on (and make it so you can continue wearing your pre-pregnancy workout tops, even if they are now crop tops).
This magnesium supplement took away my constant headaches. I take before bed religiously. Wish I had found sooner.
This is the prenatal vitamin I’ve been using since my first trimester. The lemon scent/taste took a second to get used to but I don’t even notice it now.
I love these electrolyte packets (better than Liquid IV) and plan to pack a few for my hospital bag. If I’m ever feeling dehydrated, these help me catch up quickly. I use half a packet at a time.
Comfy shoes are a must. These slides have been a godsend. Like wearing clouds everywhere you go, which is important because my feet get tired SO quickly if I’m not wearing support.
These tennis shoes are also a lifesaver. Easy to slip on for errands, dog walks, etc. Tying shoes just isn’t it anymore. These also wash great (I’ve had for a year before pregnancy). At the time I’m writing this, Gilt has them on super sale here,
While I am a golfer and have worn this golfing, this maternity skort is also just a great day-to-day option for running errands or around the house.
I’ve rediscovered my Nap dresses and they couldn’t be more comfy. My normal size still fits great thanks to how stretchy they are and I predict they will be great for postpartum and nursing.
My favorite Anthro shirt dress. Normal size still fits + it will be good for postpartum and nursing thanks to the the button-down top. Thank goodness because I have so many.
I caved and got this Bumpsuit and WOW. The second I tried it on, it became my uniform. Love it with an open oversized button-down or sweater. I also loved this dress from them for my baby shower!
I originally bought this nightgown for the hospital (it snaps open all the way down so will be good for skin-to-skin and breastfeeding) but have been loving wearing it already as PJs. It will also be a great house dress for those first few weeks at home! Runs very oversized.
Nuuly has been great for renting maternity-specific items vs. buying them. When your size is changing monthly, renting new items monthly just makes sense. Get $30 off your first Nuuly.
I’ve been using the Madeline Moves workout app since 2019 for my workouts and switched to her pregnancy program as soon as I found out I was pregnant. It gives me confidence knowing all the workouts are not only pregnancy safe, but are targeting specific areas important for pregnancy/delivery/recovery (there are different programs for 1st/2d/3rd trimesters).
Walks. I either do a 30-minute treadmill walk in the morning or a dog walk in the afternoon (sometimes both) and feel like this combined with work outs is a big part of why I’m still feeling great!
