I’ve been on an Athleta kick lately. And not just because they’ve been having good sales lately (sadly…all the favorites I’m sharing today I got before they went on sale). I’ve been really impressed with their quality, styles, and I really appreciate that they carry petite sizes (unlike Lululemon). Short girl probs. Anway, I feel obligated to share a few of my recent favorites because they’re THAT good, especially now that they’re on sale!
Athleta Advantage Dress
I live in active dresses in the summer. They’re comfy, easy to throw on and go, and practical for almost anything! I really thought the new Lululemon Align dress would be my favorite this year, but I think I might like the Athleta Advantage dress even more (!).
What I love: The fabric – it’s wrinkle free almost dry-fit material that doesn’t attract dog hair. The shorts – attached with two pockets, one for a phone and one for tennis or golf balls. Perfect for dog walks/being hands-free. The cut – I love the higher neck, making it golf appropriate, and no built-in bra means you can BYOB. The front is sleek and flattering and the back details + pleats make this look a little higher quality/dressy!
What I would change: I wish it had semi-detached shorts like the Lululemon Align dress, but – the zipper in the front makes bathroom trips easier than a lot of other active dresses. You won’t feel like you’re stretching it out to get on and off.

ATHLETA COSMIC LAYER DRESS
The cosmic layer dress was PRICEY when I bought it (in both black and white), and has since gone on sale, but I absolutely LOVE it and could not recommend it more. I’ve worn it just as many times as a pool cover-up as I have with heels and a belt to dinner. This dress really does it all and it washes like a dream. They will be a staple for years.
What I love: The FABRIC – it is so so good and is what makes the dress so special. Because it’s heavier (but breathable!) stretchy fabric, it doesn’t wrinkle – making it perfect for packing/travel, or just looking nice in a pinch. I love my white cosmic layer dress because it always looks like I just ironed it. Not a lot of white dresses are as throw-on-and-go low maintenance!
What I would change: The sleeves are a tad long on me (probably could have been fixed if I ordered the petite size), but they do have elastic on the cuff so they push up nicely.

Pictures do not do this dress justice. When you twirl, it has the most beautiful round skirt, and the way the material hangs and moves with you when you walk just feels luxurious. Anything “cosmic” from Athleta is magical – if you know, you know!
