Always Pan 2.0 Review

The Always Pan. The most adorable Instagram pan out there! But is it worth it? I’m sharing my thoughts on the new and improved Always Pan 2.0.

Did you hear that Our Place released a 2.0 of the original Always Pan? I just recently found out myself and was SO excited. A little background: I accidently ruined my original Always Pan after using it with too high of heat in the oven. I was so sad, as it was my most used, go-to pan. But when I found out that Our Place launched a new oven safe 2.0 version of the Always Pan that I set out to give try! Here’s my review!

What makes the Always Pan so great?

The Always Pan has a lot of things going for it (technically it’s a 10 in 1!). It’s a 10.5-inch pan that braises, sears, steams, strains, sautes, fries, boils, bakes, serves, stores…does it all! The nonstick ceramic coating is made without potentially toxic materials like PFAS (including PTFEs and PFOAs), lead and cadmium. And it has Thermakind™ — Our Place’s exclusive long lasting ceramic nonstick coating.

A few of my favorite features:

  • Built-in strainer. You can strain through the little gap in the lid + pour spout in the pan which I use ALL the time for draining excess fat from meat. Why doesn’t every pot/pan have this?!
  • Depth of pan. The depth makes it so you can make way more dishes than your average pan. I’ve cooked an entire box of pasta, plus chicken, plus veggies all at once in this pot. Great for skillet recipes!
  • Easy to clean. Most times you can just rinse out without much scrubbing. Knowing it’s not going to take a lot of effort to clean makes me reach for it more.
  • Built-in spoon rest. Not a need, but definitely a nice to have once you’re in the habit of using it!
  • Colors/aesthetic. It truly is a gorgeous pan. I always leave it out – it’s like an accent piece in our kitchen. And because it’s always out, again – it always gets used!

What is the biggest difference between the Always Pan 1.0 and 2.0?

The biggest difference between the original Always Pan and the Always Pan 2.0 version is that the new one is oven-safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, which means you can now use it for baking and stove-to-oven recipes. For me, this is a game changer – I never realized how many recipes I make that need to be finished in the oven!

What is included with the Always Pan?

Like the original, the Always Pan 2.0 comes with a nesting steamer basket (great for steaming veggies) and a wooden spatula that cleverly has a hole that lets you rest it on the pan’s handle when not in use, which saves you a spoon rest! I’m surprised more cookware doesn’t have this feature.

If you’re looking to extend the versatility of the Always Pan even further, they do offer some handy add-ons such as this bamboo steamer, tagine, and fry deck.

Are Always Pans oven safe?

While the original Always Pan was not recommended for oven use, the Always Pan 2.0 is oven safe up to 450°F. After I baked with my original (not oven-safe – whoops!) Always Pan, I noticed the handle became immediately wobbly and had a sudden impact on the non-stick performance. Because of this prior experience, I was hesitant to bake with my 2.0 but knew I had to get over it to give an honest review.

Verdict: I have since done several stove-to-oven recipes, and there has been no impact on handle integrity or non-stick ability. This is a game-changer!

Is the Always Pan induction compatible?

Yes! The Always Pan 2.0 is induction-compatible.

Are Always Pans worth it?

If you’re looking for one pan with a lot of versatility, I think the Always Pan is a great choice. The size/shape alone makes it a great choice for most recipes, and the fact that you can take it from oven to stove makes this a great choice. If you are a way advanced cook – of course, you might prefer more specialized pans for certain recipes! But for the average home chef? I would definitely give it a go!

Where to buy the Always Pan 2.0

If you’re interested in snagging an Always Pan for yourself, you can purchase directly from their website. I’ve always (no pun intended) found their shipping to be fast and their packaging to be superb–everything arrives beautifully and quickly!

And thanks to the beautiful packaging, they make a great gift!

Disclaimer: Our Place was kind enough to send me the Always Pan 2.0 to try (thanks, Our Place!), but all opinions are my own. I plan to update this post with a 3-month, 6-month, and one-year review when I hit those marks to report if anything has changed.
