Meet my new favorite Anthropologie shirt dress, the Bettina tiered shirt dress.

If you’re an Anthro fan, you’re undoubtedly familiar with the infamous Somerset maxi dress. Universally flattering on all body types, comes in regular/petite/tall, and can be found in a multitude of new prints each season. They even spun off and created an entire Somerset collection, complete with jumpsuits, minis, and pants based on the original fan-favorite dress.
But – I think I have a new favorite: the Bettina Tiered Shirt Dress, which I predict could be the next Somerset dress.

Meet the Bettina Tiered Shirt Dress
The Bettina Tiered Shirt Dress, in my opinion, does it all. I love a long sleeve dress because it automatically looks a little dressier (especially on Zoom calls, this would look like a very put-together button-down), and as a girl who gets chilly at even a hint of a cold air-conditioned draft, this is a great option for when you don’t know how cold the restaurant/grocery store/your friend’s house is going to be. But because it’s cotton, it’s breathable and perfect for warmer weather, too.
Pros: It’s a looser fit and incredibly comfy, yet the semi-structured top + collar makes you instantly look (and feel!) elevated. It can be dressed up with heeled sandals + cinched with a belt or dressed down with sneakers. Brunch, work, errands, around the house – I can’t think of a situation this dress wouldn’t be good for!
Cons: It’s catching on in popularity, so some colors are sold out. But – I have a feeling that this is going to be like the Somerset dress where it gets restocks/new prints for each season.
Update: Since originally writing this, new prints have already been added. Yay! The Orange Motif is next on my list!
UPDATE to the Update!: There is now a short mini shirt dress version!!!

Sizing: Runs true to size. For reference, I’m wearing a Petite XS which is my normal size. I did go in-store to try on the regular length thinking I would exchange it to make it more of a maxi dress, but after trying both, I stuck with the petite length (I’m 5′ 2″).
Below is the regular length on me in-store.
Update: The material can shrink slightly lengthwise after washing/drying – but not an issue for top size as it is a boxier fit. Just keep in mind if you are picky on length! I prefer a longer fit so have bought additional prints in regular size vs. petite.

Other Anthropologie dresses I’m crushing on
Happy shopping (and let me know if you get the Bettina!)
